A custom mural sets the color scheme and tone for this bold nursery. Bits of fabric from an used piece of bedding were used for the window treatment buttons, while hand painting completed the valance.
Murals are hand painted by Sandra and can be done directly on the wall or on canvas on installed like wallpaper. They can surround all four walls or just one, accent a small area or niche or serve as a framed focal point in a room.

Installed in entry way
This mural was done for a design studio in the Chicago area. The majoirty of it was done in my studio - only the stone blocks and weeds were done onsite.
Detail from lion fountain mural, also done in studio and applied to the wall.
This canvas is not yet installed and will be mounted over traditional white wood fireplace mantle. It is done in a grisaille technique (grays plus white)....almost, but with added pops of blue.

This headboard was done for a Chicago Luxury Home Tour several years ago. I recently upcycled it into something more soothing.. See below for the transformation.
It's now a handpainted forest headboard, in quiet tones of taupe and gray with the same, albiet reconfigured, distressed silver-leafed frame.
A Venetian grisaille mural circles this uniquely shaped powder room.
The homeowner's names and occupations, in Italian, appear on various signs on buildings throughout the mural
This grisialle mural was painted over a pearlized champagne plaster.
Bedrooms, Bits and Pieces
Wow, where did the summer go? We have been very busy with a full house redesign. The client has a small home and starting a new life. He wanted a home that was comfortable, updated and finished. He gave us full reign and a decent budget. When we visited the home it had minimal furnishings. There was no artwork, rugs, fixtures, accessories, etc. We came in, took pictures, notes on what was needed and started the project.
It took us five shopping days and two installation days to finish our design. We shopped at mid-priced stores and outlets. We thoroughly enjoyed the shopping experience and together created a design that we were very happy with. We were able to mix the higher end pieces with the bargain pieces and the results were creative and out of the box. You will see below that we did not sacrifice design for the budget we had. The rooms look spectacular.
Our first installation day was on the first floor which consisted of a living room, dining room, master bedroom, kitchen and small bathroom. Our second installation day was furnishing the empty attic bedroom and bath. the client wanted this for his children when they came to visit. Installation consisted of ironing and installing drapery panels and rods, assembling some furniture, hanging artwork and adding the final touches to the home.
We are very happy with the design of the home and most importantly, we made our client very happy. He called us immediately and told us how impressed he was. Our next project is the basement, stay tuned.
